The Senior Product Manager for Veteran Benefits Guide will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the entire product portfolio of the company. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, this senior leadership role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in product management, a strategic mindset, and the ability to mentor and manage a team of direct reports.Project Description

Be the driving force behind a ground-breaking web application designed specifically to streamline and enhance medical care delivery across the country for our military Veterans. As the Senior Product Manager, you'll own the entire product lifecycle, leading the charge from conception and design to launch and continuous optimization. This is an exciting opportunity to accelerate your product management career while making a positive difference to our military community.Requirements

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and shape the product vision and strategy in collaboration with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and manage a team of product managers and designers, providing guidance in gathering user requirements, crafting user stories, managing product roadmaps, and creating product mockups.
  • Develop comprehensive requirements, including user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Drive quality assurance testing processes and methodologies.
  • Oversee bug triage, prioritization, and assignments, ensuring efficient resolution.
  • Assume full product ownership duties, including creating user guides, supporting documentation, release notes, and managing the product backlog.
  • Own timelines and product releases, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Implement and manage product sprints, fostering a culture of innovation and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate leadership in a team environment, emphasizing attention to detail and a sense of urgency and responsibility towards clients and users.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, seeking guidance from IT management when necessary.Qualifications Or Competency

  • At least 5+ years of product management experience, with a solid track record of developing and launching successful products. Experience in managing a comprehensive product portfolio and leading major product initiatives is essential.
  • A strong technical background, with in-depth hands-on experience in product development. The candidate should have experience with advanced technological frameworks and be adept at leveraging technology trends to enhance product offerings.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading product strategy from conception to launch, aligning product vision with business goals. Proven capability to mentor and guide junior product managers and lead cross-functional teams towards successful outcomes.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with a focus on strategic planning, resource allocation, and efficient execution. Experience in managing complex projects with diverse teams and multiple stakeholders is required.
  • A profound understanding of advanced product development, UI/UX design principles, and user-centered design methodologies.
  • Expert-level knowledge in Agile methodologies and practices.
  • Proven experience in collaborating effectively with engineering teams and leading cross-functional teams. Ability to foster a culture of innovation and teamwork.
  • Familiarity with advanced product management tools such as JIRA, Notion, Trello, Asana, Figma, Sketch, etc., with the ability to leverage these tools for efficient product management processes.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical information effectively, both verbally and in writing, to diverse end-users. Skilled in negotiating, influencing, and presenting to senior management and stakeholders.
  • In-depth understanding of HIPAA compliance, US data protection standards, and other relevant regulatory requirements. Ability to ensure products comply with industry standards and legal regulations.Supervisor Responsibilities

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Work Environment

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.Physical Demands

    This is a full-time exempt position. This is a hybrid set up with 4 days in office and 1 day remote. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Schedules must be approved by supervisors.Core Business Hours

    Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with in-office attendance required four times a week and one optional remote day. Occasional after-hours coverage may be necessary. This position will participate in the on-call rotation.Travel

    Travel to the San Diego office may be required 3-4 times per year as needed. Offsite training or meeting travel is estimated to be less than 5%.Education And Experience

    Bachelor's degree strongly preferred (Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, etc. a major plus).EEO
