We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) works directly with the physician and the circulating registered nurse in each surgical procedure, understanding his/her scope of practice based upon training, and the facility policies and outlined in the job description.
  • You willparticipate in and actively assist the surgeon in completing the operation safely and expeditiously by helping to provide exposure, maintain hemostasis, and serve other technical functions.
    
  • You will collaborate with key players in all aspects and function within the Scope of Practice of a Certified Surgical First Assist: Surgeons, Anesthesiologist, PA, OR Charge Nurse, Department Director, Sterile Processing Charge Nurse, and all immediate and ancillary Team Members that will impact patient care.
  • You will assist Surgeons, within the Scope of Practice of a Certified First Assist, with the surgical procedure, as well as assist the OR Charge Nurse in the smooth ebb and flow of the unit.
  • You will promote positive Customer Service with a Patient and Family Centered Care Philosophy and meet Standard of Practice and Care using established policies and procedures of the facility.What qualifications you will need:
    • Completion of CAAHEP Accredited program
    • CSFA - NBSTSA Certification for Certified Surgical First Assist
    • BCLS Certification
    • Minimum of five to ten years certified surgical tech experience strongly preferred.
    • Active participant on Robotic Surgery team within the facility, with a minimum of 20+ cases and relevant education through DaVinci Robotic program is a 260+ bed acute care hospital. We provide emergency and pediatric emergency services. Our facility also offers a behavioral health unit serving teens and adults, an accredited Chest Pain Center, a Certified Primary Stroke Center and a dedicated orthopedic and spine unit.
