--The right candidate will provide daily support to our pre-litigation team on case management and be comfortable working in an exciting, fast-paced environment. A candidate who is compatible with our team of hardworking, fun, and committed staff.--The Director of Claims reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Responsibilities:
Position Summary
The Director of Claims is a highly focused team point of contact who is trained to professionally lead the pre-litigation team in meeting departmental goals, including performance and quality. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in all aspects of personal injury pre-litigation/claims handling; including, but not limited to, the treatment process, demands, organizational procedures and goals. This position is responsible for departmental improvements, departmental goals and oversees the training and mentoring of new pre-litigation team members.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities
--- Effectively assists in overseeing the performance of the pre-litigation team, by providing daily supervision and support; is available for staff to utilize for questions and guidance on how to handle day-to-day operations.
--- Assists in the resolution of interdepartmental issues and collaborates to develop solutions.
--- Reviews demands as part of the demand committee, ensuring Bighorn's standards are upheld and all efforts are made to maximize client settlement.
--- Evaluate the bandwidth for each desk, and ensure each team is managing their caseload effectively.
--- Serves as subject matter expert for the pre-litigation team.
--- Communicate clear goals and expectations to the pre-litigation team.
--- Responsible for bi-weekly team meetings; discussing important matters, training, and processes.
--- Develops SOPs (standard operating procedures) for Learning and Development.
--- Helps create a positive team environment.
--- Conducts performance reviews for direct reports.
--- Assists with developing templates within legal management software (Filevine).
--- Utilizing reports to manage case flow.

Qualifications:

--- 10 years of Legal experience is required.
--- Management experience preferred.
