Job Description:
Job Title: Floor Staff
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Dept: Floor Crew
Location: Walker Furniture Cheyenne Warehouse
Reports to: Warehouse Management
Work for a well-established family-owned company that is rapidly
expanding!
SUMMARY:
Works with others within the department to ensure all tasks are
completed. Receives transfers and purchase order merchandise from
the delivery trucks, assists multiple departments with coordination
and movement of products. The work must often be accomplished
quickly and with a great degree of accuracy
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Checks for sharp edges, glass protections and hazardous
conditions.
2. Use power or handheld tools
3. Verify sales receipt and paperwork
4. Assist with customer pick up, and ensure customers sign for
merchandise
5. Stages, wraps, and prepares merchandise for store transfers and
customer pick ups
6. Ensures that all accessory transfers are counted and ready to be
loaded when the transfer truck arrives.
7. May be required to examine and inspect containers, materials,
and products in order to ensure that packing specifications are
met, and that damaged merchandise is identified and noted.
8. Sort and places items on racks, shelves, or in bins
9. Utilize company systems to run reports and scan inventory
10. Required to assist with organizing the Floor Crew work area to
maintain safety and orderliness at all times.
11. Must wear all required safety equipment and ensure that
employees adhere to safety requirements.
12. May perform other routine facilities maintenance duties such as
sweeping, dusting, cleaning, as necessary.
13. Load and use recycle machine. Bundle recycled materials.
14. Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
--- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
--- Ability to work with others, perform work independently or as a
team.
--- Ability to routinely lift and move heavy objects.
--- Ability to read and interpret documents such as invoices, sales
tickets, sku's, safety rules, operating and assembly instructions,
and procedure manuals with attention to detail.
--- Basic computer skills are necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee is regularly required to use back, hands and arms to
lift, move, reach, adjust a variety of light weight to heavy weight
items. Regularly uses fingers to use a computer keyboard. The
employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel or
crouch. The employee may occasionally be required to climb, sit
while to accomplish the work. Specific vision abilities required by
this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift a
minimum of 75-100 pounds.
