Job Description:
A company is looking for an Inpatient Senior Complex Coder to
join their Acute Care HIMS Coding Team remotely.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze medical records and accurately code diagnostic and
procedural information using ICD CM and PCS coding systems
Abstract clinical diagnoses and procedure codes, ensuring
completeness and accuracy of records
Provide coding quality assurance and act as a subject-matter
expert, mentoring less experienced staff
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
High school diploma/GED or equivalent specialized training in
medical record keeping principles
Active certification as a CCS, COC, CPC, RHIT, RHIA, or similar
coding certification
Five or more years of inpatient coding experience in an Acute Care
facility
Knowledge of ICD CM and PCS coding principles as per AHIMA coding
competencies
Ability to work effectively in a remote setting using common office
and coding software
